L&M in Jerusalem

Voller Spannung haben wir dieses besondere Fest unserer Freunde in Jerusalem erwartet. Wie in Israel üblich, fand die Feier am Abend statt. So hatten wir am Nachmittag genügend Zeit, mit dem Brautpaar einige Fotos im nahe gelegenen Montefiore Park zu machen. Die historische Windmühle, die wunderschöne Allee mit alten Olivenbäumen und die mediterrane Flora waren die perfekte Kulisse dafür. Eine im Sonnenuntergang tanzende Gruppe nahm das Brautpaar kurzerhand in ihre Mitte und spornte sie mit lautem „Mazal Tov!“ (Glückwunsch) zum Tanz an. Etwas später trafen dann die Gäste zum Apéro ein, wo sie vom Brautpaar begrüsst wurden. Die Chuppa, die traditionelle jüdische Trauung unter dem Baldachin, fand auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf die Altstadt von Jerusalem statt. Weiter ging’s mit einem Büffet, Musik und Tanz. Ein wunderschönes Fest!

We’ve been very much looking forward to this special day, the wedding of our friends in Jerusalem. As it is tradition, the event took place in the evening. Therefore we had enough time in the afternoon to take the bridal couple out to the Montefiore Park to take some pictures. The historic windmill, a beautiful alley with old olive trees as well as the mediterranean flora were the perfect background. A group of people dancing in the sunset spontaneously took the couple in their midst and cheered on them to dance with loud „Mazal Tov!“ (Congratulations). Later the guests arrived for aperitif and were greeted by the bridal couple. The Chuppa, the traditional jewish wedding ceremony under the baldachin, took place on the terrace with view over the old town of Jerusalem. Afer that, a delicious dinner buffet awaited the guests, as well as good music and dancing. A wonderful wedding!
